What We Do

We are very excited to introduce you to Family Matters of Central Florida.
Family Matters was born because of a huge need in Clermont and Lake County to offer life coaching/counseling for a variety of individuals and families in crisis. For 20 years, Family Matters has provided counseling and and life coaching for single parents, pregnant teens, abused children, and depressed and suicidal teens and adults and others in crisis. Through the years, Family Matters has discovered the immense need for additional services for many of its clients, these complimentary services are:
  • Tutoring for students

  • English Classes for 2nd Language Learners

  • Life Coaching

Ms. Bekemeyer's work as a school counselor, has led her to identify a significant correlation between mental/emotional well-being and academic success. Students struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, low-self esteem are very likely to struggle with academic focus, retention, and motivation. Likewise, students who struggle academically, are most often susceptible to developing mental/emotional health issues such as depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Family Matters of Central Florida, Inc. provides care for student mental/emotional health through counseling services, and for student academic success through tutoring and educational support.
Family Matters of Central Florida seeks to equip local families and students with education, resources and counseling/coaching to navigate successfully through ordinary & extraordinary life matters.
