Our Programs
We are very excited to introduce you to Family Matters of Central Florida.
Family Matters was born because of a huge need in Clermont and Lake County to offer counseling for a variety of individuals and families in crisis. Family Matters first clients were two children involved in a custody battle and a race to preserve their innocence and healthy futures. The mother had remarried a registered sex offender and the biological father's attorney referred the father and the children to Amy Bekemeyer, MA, the founder of Family Matters. The father eventually received custody of the children, and after some time in counseling, the children became healthy again.
For more than 20 years, Family Matters has been there to provide counseling, life coaching and support for single parents, pregnant teens, abused children, and depressed and suicidal teens and adults and others in crisis.
Through the years, Family Matters has discovered the immense need for additional services for many of its clients. These complimentary services have been added. New services include:
Tutoring and Educational Support
Counseling and Life Coaching
English Classes for all ages
Educational Consulting
Take Action
Since Family Matters is a not-for-profit organization, its services are made possible through funds from our generous donors.
